Members of Congress unable to to gather information on scheduled visit.
A delegation of congressional lawmakers, including Appropriations Committee member Mike Garcia of California, sought to take a closer look at the border crisis and a Drug Enforcement Agency intelligence facility near El Paso, Texas. However, they were not allowed to enter or observe the administration’s policies in action.
California Representative Mike Garcia said, “This is not something we surprised them with. We’ve been trying to get in here for a couple of weeks and it’s coming from the top. It’s coming from the White House.” He continued, ”In my opinion, they have data they are gathering at this intelligence center which clearly indicates that our open borders are actually more serious than the average American understands right now.”
Representative Vicky Hartzler of Missouri said, “I would have liked to have the opportunity to visit with the FBI and the agents here to learn more about what the drug cartels are doing and what strategy we’re employing to stop them. But we were denied that opportunity.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- That members of Congress representing the people of the United States be offered the opportunity to check into the intelligence center in El Paso.
- For FBI and border agents as they carry out their responsibilities.
- For the president and his administration to be transparent about immigration and the U.S. southern border.
